About This Product
Niacinamide, also called nicotinamide, is the amide of nicotinic acid and one of the forms of vitamin B3 (C6H6N2O, molecular weight 122.12, CAS 98-92-0). It is a white crystalline powder that dissolves readily in water and ethanol. The assay is 98.5–101.5%, with loss on drying no more than 0.5%, residue on ignition 0.1% maximum, chloride 0.02% maximum and heavy metals 0.003% maximum.
Cosmetic formulators use it in creams, serums, toners and hair-care products, where its water solubility makes it simple to incorporate. In food it provides niacin for fortification, vitamin premixes and food supplements.
Nicotinamide is a permitted form of niacin for adding to foods and food supplements in the UK and EU, but no grade is named on the data sheet. Before supply, confirm that the grade meets the purity criteria for the intended cosmetic, food or supplement use, and request a batch certificate that gives the melting point with its unit.

Confirm the evidence before ordering
Food-grade identity alone does not establish permission for every food or country. Confirm permitted use, limits and labelling requirements for the intended market. Certification availability must be checked for the nominated product and manufacturing site.
